Owner: Capstone Rural Health

Location: Parrish, Alabama

Capstone Rural Health provides healthcare services in smaller communities in Alabama that lack access to providers.  BPA was commissioned to design a replacement facility for the Parrish Clinic in Walker County.  Part of the project required applying for a federal grant from the USDA to supplement the overall budget.  A requirement of receiving the grant was to install energy-saving features and products.  The new facility was designed with the most efficient HVAC products, LED lighting, and has solar energy panels on roof to offset energy consumption.

The new clinic has approximately 9,600 s.f. and includes the following services;   internal medicine, maternity, mental health, dental, and pharmacy.  The overall design is intended to blend in with the rural area's natural setting, and the building's exterior has a cottage look with stone and lap siding.  The interior continues this look with wood-style LVT flooring, stone countertops, wood-laminate cabinetry, and soft, muted paint colors.  The result is a facility that provides the whole community with vital services in a pleasant, state-of-the-art environment.
